The Sixth Sunday after Trinity
Exodus 20:1-17 | Romans 6:1-11 | Matthew 5:17-26
"Unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven." These damning words of Jesus reveal to us that our righteousness is never enough, that we can never be "good people" in the eyes of God. Thus we must seek a righteousness outside of ourselves, found only in the perfect life and sacrificial death of our Lord Jesus.
