Melissa Hulsey

Miss Melissa Hulsey is a native of Evansville, Indiana.  She attended Concordia University Chicago, where she she graduated magna cum laude, with a Bachelor of Arts in Lutheran Education, and a minor in Music. Melissa was also a member of the Kappa Delta Pi International Teachers’ Honor Society. Before joining us at Immanuel, she taught at St. Peter’s Lutheran School, in Schaumburg, Illinois, as a 4th Grade student teacher. Under the mentorship of esteemed educational consultant, Jackquelyn Veith, Melissa sought new and innovative ways to advance kindergarten curriculum and learning styles.

Miss Hulsey is Called to teach at Immanuel Lutheran school, where she currently teaches our kindergarten class. An enthusiastic advocate for the Spalding Method of reading and writing, Miss Hulsey loves to spark her students’ thinking caps by implementing multi-sensory learning in her classroom. When her time is not being occupied inspiring young kindergarten minds, Melissa enjoys team sports, running half-marathons, teaching piano, choir, shoe shopping, and reading Sherlock Holmes.
