The daughter of a Lutheran pastor, and graduate of a Lutheran elementary school, Mrs. Julia Habrecht possesses an earnest zeal for classical education, and the mission of Immanuel Lutheran Church and School. Julia earned a Bachelor’s degree in Art History from the University of Toledo. She also has a strong background in non-profit management, project management, and fundraising. Julia put those skills to work while teaching philanthropy and community leadership with a youth and leadership organization in Toledo. Prior to joining us here at Immanuel, Julia worked as Head of Exhibitions, as well as Director of Major Gifts, at the Toledo Museum of Art for twelve years. During her time there, she managed five of the top ten best attended exhibitions at the museum, including the Michelangelo and Van Gogh exhibits.

Mrs. Habrecht currently teaches Art History for all grade levels. She loves to share her love and appreciation for the arts, and strives to cultivate, in our students, an eye for the aesthetics that is so crucial to a well-rounded classical curriculum. She also serves as the school’s library coordinator, and as Special Assistant to the Headmaster. As a music enthusiast, Julia is also a member of our church choir, and director of our adult handbells group.  Julia and her husband Matthew currently reside in Alexandria, Virginia.
